Her work has evolved at the intersection of curatorial and editorial practices, the politics of language, counter-hegemonic imaginaries, the power of subtlety and intergenerational memory as a form of resistance and reflection. She is the initiator of Xigagueta, a program of art, writing, and thought from Binnizá land; the author of Mbuchi: Turtle Words. On Forbidden Mother Tongues, published by PrintRoom in the Netherlands in 2024. Since 2024, she is curator of Resquicio at Casa de Lago, UNAM and from 2026, she is the Head of the Master Programme Phantom Scores, at Sandberg Instituut in collaboration with If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution. She has a background in German Literary and Language Studies; additionally, she conducts research and dissemination activities related to Binnizá culture. Interested in collective learning processes, Posas was part of the team behind Materia Abierta from 2019 to 2024. Alongside Mônica Hoff, she co-curated the edition Ni apocalipsis ni paraíso in 2021. From 2020 to 2021, she was selected as a curator in residence at the Jan van Eyck Academie and as a fellow at the Nieuwe Instituut from 2022 to 2023. From 2012 to 2018, she served as editorial director and curator at Fundación Alumnos47, where she explored the role of publishing as social provocation, counter narratives, the intersection of public and private spaces, and editing as a subversive methodology. In 2019 and 2020, she shaped and curated Reading Material, a program within Material Art Fair. Niidxi: Sobre curar desde el lenguaje is the title of my essay contribution. The editors’ words about it in a rough translation: “This essay reminds us that who we are,&nbsp; the work we do and choices we make in life are determined not only by our personal history, but also by the history&nbsp; and relationships with our ancestors and, in this case, with their mother tongue. This is a text taking her body and her memories as a center. interventions by the artists. The Brain MixologistImagine you are a child that hears her mother speak a language in private. She speaks it in her daily life and with the rest of your family, but she never uses it with you, her child. This tongue becomes a secret code, forbidden, so it does not taint the other languages you need to speak perfectly in order to be accepted in society. This is the case of many descendants of Nations without State––also referred to as indigenous people. Their personal histories are completely attached to a language that was not allowed to be pronounced, thoughts that could not be grasped. However, languages trespass their linguistic forms to be potentially spoken through the rituals of the community, the corporeal encounter among them. That is how phantom languages become. Being aware that indigenous knowledges are mediated by colonial language and its forms of power, some narratives are hidden beyond words and cannot be observed via letters or syntax. But those can be felt and performed. Bodies resonate, they are resonant to the specific sounds of nature. We learn our mother tongue not mentally but physically. The Brain Mixologist is an exhibition that plays around the languages of the body that unfold metalinguistic narratives or knowledges of oppressed mother-tongues that still resonate through sensuality, ritualistic practices and haptic encounters. Phantoms that move back and forth, from body to body, as socio-political gestures of other worldviews. With a title taken from a poem by Mexican artist Valentina Jager, this exhibition will show the work of artists that approach the languages of the body, their performatical side, the spontaneous, the expression of emotion into the world. Now, in pandemic times where incarnated communicative meaning and bodily gestures are neglected, what does it mean to communicate beyond the spoken, if––paraphrasing Paul B. Preciado––the body is the platform that makes possible the materialization of political imagination? Lucie Draai touches upon interspecies –and interspectral relationships, weaving personal narratives that play with the appearance and disappearance of the body, the ghost within and without the space. Influenced by Butoh dance, Valentina Jager creates a script that proposes a notation for movements with visualizations that come from spiritual sessions. Erika Roux accompanies La Révolution est en marche, a collective body that organizes protests, meetings and assemblies traversing between social media and social encounters. Boram Soh reenacts the last gesture of a dead animal witnessed through the medium of the body and the embodiment of materials as a dialogue with life and death. Amy Suo Wu communicates with the realms beyond mortal life using embodied publishing as a self-fulling prophecy instrument that works closely to her mother’s value system and aesthetic sensibilities in the search of intergenerational mending. A poem by Valentina Jager was written on the walls using mud. Letters were traced one by one over a vinyl stuck to the wall in order to be covered by the mud and when it was finally dry, the letters were scratched from the walls revealing the poem and drawings. Tobi y levantaba el índice, Chupa y levantaba el medio, Chonna levantaba el anular, Tapa levantaba el meñique y Gaayu’ levantaba el pulgar. tobi chupa chonna tapa gaayu’ tobi chupa chonna tapa gaayu’ tobi chupa chonna tapa gaayu’ y Donají, con sus enormes ojos negros, veía hipnotizada el movimiento de los dedos mientras repetía tobi-chupa-chonna-tapa-gaayu’. Esta rutina la repetían todos los días, cuando Toña se sentaba a la mesa con la niña para darle de comer. No le gustaba casi nada, el huevo tenía que ser duro y las frutas sólo en puré de Gerber. Las sincronizadas con queso oaxaca eran lo que más le gustaba y las acompañaban con chocomilk, aunque los jugos de frutas eran su bebida favorita. Es ahí cuando Toña aplicaba su magia: dedos gimnastas de arriba a abajo al ritmo de tobi-chupa-chonna-tapa-gaayu’. It wasa project of performative publishing, art dialogue and exhibition in the contiguity with publishing. Kiosko was a temporary place for reunion, a fictional treasure island where the verb publish was gold. Through Kiosko, I commissioned performances, art works, installations, an architectural pavilion, screenings; together we published a physical shelter for imagination with a vast public program. This project took shape through curating of publications, an exhibition of works derived from the aforementioned selection and a pavilion in the institution’s garden that served as a keystone for the works, publications and public gathering. Kiosko perceived the editorial as a key element in contemporary culture. Part of the theoretical basis for Kiosko were Speciesof Spaces by George Perec, Ulises Carrión, the I Ching hexagram 45 Ts’ ui, poems by Ocean Vuong andthe books that triggered the collaboration with the artists. Communication of the project was also an important application of language as a provocation. Through Kiosko I explored topics such as the politics of the subtlety, the gestural, the act of editing as an interpretative labour and reading the space as a form of writing. When we talk about reading, we think about books or printed formats that we immediately relate to writers or novels as synonyms of stories or narratives. However, it is not necessary to read or see something on Netflix to find narratives, we can find them by accident everywhere; in everyday life, in the objects of the supermarket or waiting for public transport: narratives are inherent to human discourse since it is a way of knotting our step in time. Traditionally, the narrative structure of any work consists of the approach, knot and its outcome. One way to outline narrative actions is through graphic elements; examples of them are magazines and comics that are based on a network or composition of lines. The set of these lines make grids and as a structure, they are the skeleton for the contents, let’s say they are the bones of 
a body. Whether the lines are horizontal, vertical or curved, the grid weaves intersections and thus the creation of new spaces. It is in those spaces where the characters, actions and time of a story come together. Specifically in graphic narratives such as comics, reticular spaces are a possibility to break the traditional reading in order to create open stories without an evident beginning or end. From the invitation of Caniche Magazine*, in (Un)Building Stories we present six artists oriented in different topics and approaches to the plastic work. On this occasion their work was selected under the pretext of graphic narratives and the editorial exploration in the physical space of Casa de Francia Gallery. Without particular details, the work of these artists could be traced through reticular rules and in some cases, we can see more evident steps towards the graphic novel for the exploration of topics such as dreams, the future, the Mayan codices, the body, the domestic space, everyday life and the anxiety of living today. The result is a psychedelic sample, a bit surrealistic that flirts with a six- voice story, fragmented between each other but with the possibility of reading it all together as a mysterious narrative (without beginning or end) where the pieces float harmoniously in space. Very special thanks to Material Art Fair team: Brett Schultz, Rodrigo Feliz, Isa Castilla, Paty Siller, Maika Palazuelos, Fabien Capello, Aprdelesp, Carla Katsu, Michelangelo Miccolis and participant editors. ⏀ READING MATERIAL is a new program inside MATERIAL ART FAIR, which is dedicated to present art book publishers. In response to the fairs wild spirit, I conceived a place where books can be found everywhere, where we can approach their editors in new and different ways. Located on the third floor of the fair’s multilevel structure, READING MATERIAL created a playground within the fair’s context which allows for the a relatable relationship with printed formats in circulation and the exhibition of contemporary art. I believe that books can serve as devices for exchange as well as for the guardianship of ideas, which is why I’m interested in exploring the plurality and complexity of their contents. With 36 proposals from 10 different countries, we could read different realities within the thousands of pages presented. For this experience, I have decided to eliminate tables along with their physical mediation. In exchange, we created an exhibition space with no precedents. With this format we hoped exhibitors could move freely, appropriating and enjoying the space around them. From this first encounter of editors, artists and art spaces, we wanted READING MATERIAL to become the place where we could stop and took in the fair’s experience with the company of great books. Through the fair lasted only 4 days, I hoped the books found in READING MATERIAL could be a good company while waiting for the next year’s edition of Material.
